Unapologetically American! 🇺🇸
I recently became an American citizen.
It was one of the happiest moments of my life.
My wife and four children were sitting directly behind me as I swore the Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America—the greatest country in the world.
For me, this moment was the realisation of a dream I’ve had since childhood, growing up in the countryside of Scotland.
Even back then, I was drawn to everything American—its sports, its culture, its entrepreneurial spirit. America had a confidence I didn't feel in Europe; a sense of limitless possibility.
America, to me, is more than a country. It’s the living embodiment of thousands of years of Western philosophy—the real-world incarnation of ideas from Adam Smith, John Locke, Thomas Paine, and Montesquieu. It’s the canvas of some of the greatest builders the world has known—Disney, Musk, Rockefeller.
Since immigrating here fifteen years ago, I've worked, built, stumbled, learned, and grown. I've experienced highs and lows, been pushed further than I ever imagined possible, and continue to become the best version of myself. And through it all, I’ve never stopped being grateful for the chance to be here.
I truly believe my life's best work is still ahead—and I can't wait to do it here, in America.
